The Planet Group is seeking an experienced Traveling Project Manager I – Civil to lead projects nationwide. This role manages financial performance, schedules, safety, procurement, and contract administration while developing team members and maintaining strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of six years of related professional experience.
• Ability to manage complex projects across multiple responsibilities.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Understanding of construction law and business practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage the overall financial health, budget, and cost performance of projects.
• Support and lead EPC contract negotiations, including technical exhibits and project schedules.
• Lead vendor procurement and bid/award processes for major subcontractors and suppliers.
• Develop and maintain project financial forecasts, equipment projections, and resource plans.
• Allocate project estimates within financial systems, establish cost codes, and approve invoices.
• Prepare monthly owner billings and coordinate project financial reporting with accounting.
• Manage subcontracts and supplier relationships, including budgets and trade partner selections.
• Oversee contract administration, billings, and change orders.
• Manage, mentor, and develop Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers.
• Review and approve timecards and provide performance feedback to team members.
• Maintain project quality, timeliness, safety, and customer satisfaction.
• Build strong working relationships with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
