Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Civil Field Engineer for its Eastern District. The role links office and field teams, supports coordination, surveying, cost control, and documentation on heavy civil projects. Travel is extensive; relocation is not required, but frequent travel is expected.

The position focuses on field engineering, coordination of subcontractors, and ensuring safety and quality on site. A civil engineering or related degree is required along with prior field experience.

Qualifications

• Travel and relocation as needed.
• 3+ years' construction field experience.
• Work experience in engineering and leading engineers.
• Undergraduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related.
• Ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment.
• Highly motivated with initiative and strong work ethic.
• Commitment to ethics, integrity and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision.
• Perform quantity calculations by taking measurements and determining completed materials.
• Assist in field surveying and work layout support including elevation and control points.
• Assist in compiling daily labor timesheets and JHA preparation.
• Support jobsite safety reviews and toolbox talks.
• Order and schedule material deliveries and coordinate work groups.
• Supervise field operations and provide field support to subcontractors.
• Assist in cost tracking and change order generation.
