Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Field Engineer in its South Central District, focusing on heavy civil infrastructure such as highways, bridges, and utilities. The role encompasses field and office engineering tasks, estimating support, and site supervision across dynamic work sites.

Relocation and travel are expected as projects require, with emphasis on teamwork and safety. Ideal candidates hold a construction/engineering degree or equivalent experience, with strong CPM, cost control, and documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction/engineering or related field; 2+ years field construction experience preferred.
• CPM scheduling, material controls, estimating, subcontracts, change orders, record keeping and document control.
• Leadership experience with strong communication and planning skills.
• Familiarity with paving, grading, excavation, concrete forming, and related field activities.
• Willing to travel and relocate to projects.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and specs for field crews and craft supervision.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and measure completed work.
• Prepare work plans and work packages; assist in field surveying and layout.
• Compile daily labor timesheets and assist in JHA preparation.
• Support safety reviews, toolbox talks and site safety.
• Order and schedule material deliveries; plan and coordinate site work groups.
• Supervise field operations and provide field support to subcontractors.
