Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Field Engineer to support field operations in the South Central District on highway and heavy civil projects. The role covers contract administration, planning, scheduling, cost controls, and field supervision.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and 3–5 years of construction experience, with mobility across multiple sites and a strong safety ethic. This is a full-time, project-based position with extensive travel required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Strong reading and interpretation of drawings, specs, and contract documents.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Assist with interpretations of drawings and specs for field crews and supervision.
• Prepare work plans and work packages.
• Supervise field surveying, elevation and control points.
• Assist in labor timesheet processing and JHA preparation.
• Support safety reviews, toolbox talks, and trainings.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate on-site work groups.
• Perform material takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Prepare data for submittals to customers and vendors.
• Assist in purchase orders and subcontracting as requested.
• Maintain project records and daily reports.
• Input data into cost reports and review with management.
• Generate change orders and as-built data for PM review.
• Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations.
