Job summary

Mortenson Construction seeks an experienced Assistant Superintendent to coordinate and supervise craft teams and sub-contractors across a construction discipline. The role emphasizes field leadership, safety, and schedule control, with frequent travel required.

Ideal candidates hold a Construction/Engineering degree, 3+ years in construction management, and strong communication skills. Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years construction management or related experience.
• Current driver's license.
• Microsoft Office, project, and pertinent web application skills.
• Positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise craft workers and subcontractors on a project.
• Review weekly labor reports and address issues.
• Approve craft worker certifications and trainings.
• Participate in site orientation, safety meetings, and POD activities.
• Review and approve timecards; participate in hiring/dismissal of craft workers.
• Manage on-site operations, equipment, labor, and schedule to support project scope.
• Support safety audits and quality control for self-perform and subcontractors.
• Provide guidance on setup, in-place work, and project closeout/demobilization.
