Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent to coordinate and supervise sub-contractors and craft teams within a specific construction discipline in North Carolina.

The role includes supporting project managers on schedule development, reviewing certifications, and ensuring safety and quality across on-site operations. Must have a relevant degree and 3+ years of supervision experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction-related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years construction management or related experience.
• Current driver's license.
• Completion of or interest in Master, Journeyman, or Apprentice electrician program preferred.
• Electrical circuitry qualified or ability to be qualified.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks across projects.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Project, and web-based tools.
• Strong communication and customer service.
• Able to work in North Carolina region.
• Active listening and inclusive communication.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise craft teams and subcontractors on a construction site.
• Monitor weekly labor reports and address issues.
• Review and approve craft worker certifications and trainings.
• Participate in site orientation, safety meetings, and on-site operations.
• Coordinate review and approval of craft worker timecards.
• Assist in hire/dismissal processes for craft workers.
• Support schedule development and updates with Project Managers.
• Coordinate with equipment providers for site equipment needs.
• Oversee quantity takeoffs and materials management during buyout.
• Manage Production/Innovation Boards and Plan of Day activities.
• Support safety audits and worker observations.
• Ensure quality control of self-perform and subcontractors’ work.
