Job summary

Summit Line Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to help plan, direct, and coordinate high-voltage transmission, substation, and distribution projects across the western United States. The role involves budgeting, scheduling, staffing, subcontractor coordination, safety, and quality control, with up to 100% travel to project sites.

The position supports pre-construction activities, manages cost reporting, and maintains documentation while coordinating with owners and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Able to multi-task and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
• Adaptable to a fast-paced work environment and shifting priorities.
• High school diploma required;Bachelor's degree preferred in related fields.

Responsibilities

• Assist in budgeting labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Track project costs against forecast and report findings.
• Support development and management of the project Schedule of Values (SOV) and billing packages.
• Assist pre-construction efforts including bid preparation and contract review.
• Develop the project baseline schedule and update it as needed.
• Prepare, review, and document revisions to contracts with suppliers/subcontractors.
• Maintain files and generate project progress reports.
• Prepare and update project submittals and RFIs.
• Communicate with supervisors, subcontractors, and engineers to resolve issues.
• Develop material trackers and manage BOMs, inventories, and quality control.
