Job summary

Newsandtribune is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to support general and GYN cases in a hospital operating room in the United States. The role features 3x12-hour days from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with call requirements and travel eligibility for first-time travelers.

Candidates must have at least 3 years of scrub tech experience, be certified, and hold current BLS. LIC/cert expirations and distance from facility are considered in eligibility.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of general and GYN scrub tech experience.
• Certified Surgical Technologist credential required.
• BLS certification required.
• License required if applicable; ensure active status.
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment.
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital operating room.
• General and GYN surgical case population.
• Days schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Call requirement of one shift per week and one weekend per 6 weeks.
• Prepare and maintain sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment for general and GYN surgical cases.
• Assist surgical team with instrument handling and sterile field maintenance during procedures.
• Perform instrument and sponge counts with the circulating nurse.
• Maintain a clean and safe operating room environment.
• First-time travelers will be considered.
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible.
• Travelers who worked as permanent staff at any CHS facility within the past 2 years will not be considered.
• RTO requests must be less than 1 week
