Job summary

American Traveler is seeking travel healthcare professionals for an Alabama facility. The role emphasizes Trauma, Neuro, General, and Vascular cases with robotics experience and potential Endovascular work.

Tight night shifts and on-call requirements apply, with comprehensive medical and housing benefits offered. The position requires a minimum of two years of experience for first-time travelers, certification or license as applicable, and relocation within the network.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience required for first-time travelers; travelers with only 1 year of experience will not be accepted.
• Robotics experience for General and Neuro cases required; Mazor or DaVinci XI preferred.
• Endovascular experience preferred, including AAA, carotids, AVG, AVF, Fem-Fem bypass, and aorta bi-fem procedures if assigned to vascular cases.
• CVOR experience required only if assigned to Open Heart cases.
• Certification preferred but not required.
• License required if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, and Primary Stroke Center with 492 beds.
• Surgery unit with 15 beds and a minimal pediatric (typically ortho) patient population.
• Patient ratio of 1:1.
• 12-hour night shifts, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 36 hours per week starting at 6:30p.
• No floating required.
• On-call required for every service line except Open Heart, one day per week from 3p-7a, plus one weekend per month from Friday 3p to Monday 7a.
• Expected to work a holiday per contract.
• Uses Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors.
• Support staff includes an ORA, desk assistant, FAs, charge nurse, and team leaders for each service line.
• Orientation consists of 2 weeks on day shift, with buddy call expected during orientation.
• Green scrubs provided.
• Parking available in a parking deck.
• First-time travelers considered with at least 2 years of experience.
• Returning perm staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a traveler.
• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to be eligible.
