American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist for a cardiovascular operating room position requiring CST certification and DaVinci Xi robotic surgery experience. The role involves working in a busy CVOR with 22–26 suites, 50–65 cases per day, and exposure to diverse service lines including ENT, Gyn, Uro, Vascular, and Cardiac procedures.

The ideal candidate will have CST, BLS, and Washington State licensure, plus DaVinci Xi experience and EPIC EMR proficiency.

Qualifications

• CST certification and active Washington State license required at time of consideration; BLS (AHA) certification.
• Requires graduation from an accredited surgical technology program; CST registered with NBSTSA; state licensure where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Scrub duties in a high-volume CVOR across multiple service lines.
• Utilize DaVinci Xi robotic system for Gyn, Uro and General cases.
• Assist with circulating duties and knowledge across multiple case types.
• Document procedures in EPIC EMR with accuracy and timeliness.
• Work 4x10-hour shifts with fixed start times; on-site call with 30-minute response time.
• Traveler orientation includes HR and OR leadership training; no floating requirements.

American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist for a cardiovascular operating room position requiring CST certification and DaVinci Xi robotic surgery experience.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of surgical technologist experience preferred; candidates with less than 2 years may be considered if experience includes a facility of similar or larger size with ENT and DaVinci Xi experience
• BLS certification (AHA)
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA; national certification not required but must be registered with Washington State
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program
• Active Washington State license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
• License required if applicable
• Circulating duties experience preferred, with knowledge across multiple case types
• ENT and DaVinci Xi (Gyn, Uro, General) experience required
• Cardiac experience required, including willingness to take cardiac call
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Acute care CVOR unit with 22 suites (capacity to expand to 26) across three separate floors
• Averages 50-65 cases per day across 16 different service lines
• Common cases include GYN, Uro, Vascular, Plastic, Ortho (total hips/knees), Neuro, Cardiovascular, Thoracic, General (Breast/HPB/Bariatric), Sports Med, kidney/pancreatic transplants, and ENT procedures (FESS, septoplasty, cochlear implant, tympanoplasty, laryngoscopy)
• Utilizes DaVinci Xi robotic surgery system for Gyn, Uro, and General cases
• EPIC EMR used
• 4x10-hour shifts, variable days and start times Monday-Friday (0630, 0900, or 1100)
• No self-scheduling; start time remains consistent for the same week
• Later start times on Tuesdays and Fridays for in-services and team meetings
• Call requirement of 1 shift per 4-week schedule, covering both weekday and weekend call
• Weekday call runs from end of shift until 7am the next morning; weekend call is a 24-hour rotation (7am to 7am)
• Call response time of 30 minutes with an on-site call room available
• No floating requirements
• Perform scrub duties in a high-volume, multi-specialty CVOR supporting large and complex surgical cases
• Charge nurse available on the unit as a resource, managing the daily board
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Unit and department orientation includes 1-2 days of HR and OR leadership training (including EHR system) and 1-2 days with a preceptor on the unit; may be extended for those without prior Cerner experience
• Traveler should bring their own earphones for online training during the first week of orientation
• Teal scrubs are provided; dress code follows AORN standards
• More than two absence occurrences within a 13-week contract may be considered excessive and could result in early contract termination
• No holiday call requirements
