Responsibilities

- Staff a 6-suite CVOR unit with a dedicated CVOR and hybrid room.
- Assist in 20-30 cases per day including cardiovascular procedures.
- Handle on-call duties up to 50% with a 30-minute response.
- Work Monday–Friday, 0600-1430 with on-call coverage.

American Traveler is seeking a Surgical Technologist for a CVOR position requiring at least 1 year of open heart experience and BLS certification.
- Acute care hospital setting within a CVOR unit (Main/West Campus)
- 6 operating suites including 1 dedicated CVOR and 1 hybrid room
- 20-30 cases per day, including 1-2 cardiovascular cases or up to 4 TAVR cases
- Common procedures include CABG, aortic valve, mitral valve, and TAVR
- Cerner EMR used
- Schedule is Monday-Friday, 0600-1430, with on-call responsibilities
- On-call up to 50% of the time after shift end through the next morning, with a 30-minute response requirement
- On-call up to 50% of weekends
- Charge nurse and specialty leads available as resources; house supervisor on-site from 6pm-7am
- BLS certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of open heart surgical technology experience required
- Minimum of 2 years of overall experience required
- Active state or compact (NLC) license required for the state of submission, if applicable
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
- Provide surgical technologist support in a high-acuity cardiovascular operating room
- Hospital provides scrubs
- Additional scrub techs available for support
- Candidates must have a permanent residence at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
