Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a CVOR Surgical Technologist with at least 2 years of adult CVOR experience for a night shift contract at a Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital. The role supports Cardiac, Thoracic, and Vascular cases and collaborates with EP Lab and Cath Lab teams.

Ideal candidates have BLS certification, EPIC EMR experience, and strong teamwork abilities. The position requires recent experience in the specialty and references from a supervisor or manager.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Adult CVOR experience.
• BLS certification and national certification preferred but not required.
• License required if applicable.
• Minimum 12 months of core work experience in the specialty unit, with recent experience within the last year.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration.
• At least 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN.

Responsibilities

• Level 1 Trauma and Level 1 Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital with Magnet designation.
• Unit consists of 7 ORs dedicated to Adult and Pediatric Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular procedures.
• Supports Cath Lab and EP Lab departments.
• Patient population includes Cardiac, Vascular, and Thoracic surgery cases.
• 12-hour night shift schedule from 1900-0700, 36 hours per week.
• Uses EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing system.
• Possible floating to Pineville CVOR, though unlikely.
• Weekend rotation and call coverage may be required if the in-house team member calls out.
• Call requirement of 1 night per week and 2 weekends within a 6-week scheduling period with a 1-hour call back time.
• Sleep room available for call shifts.
• Schedule cycles every 6 weeks.
• Work alongside a Clinical Supervisor, Charge RN, OR Assistants, Anesthesia/CRNA team, and experienced peer support.
• Orientation includes New Employee Orientation and 2 days of departmental orientation, varying based on experience level.
• Holiday coverage may be required if holidays fall within the contract period.
• RTO subject to manager approval.
• Personal scrubs worn to and from the hospital, with hospital-issued scrubs required in the OR.
• Free parking available.
• Positive unit culture reported.
• First-time travelers will be considered.
• Returning employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position.
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are not accepted for this position.
