Job summary

American Traveler seeks a Cardiac Surgical Technologist with CVOR experience for a Level II trauma hospital's dedicated cardiac operating room.

The role encompasses working in a dedicated CVOR unit, handling CABG/AVR/MVR and ascending aortic repairs, with Cerner EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis dispensed meds. Typical schedule is 6:30a–5p, 4x10s, with limited weekend work and negotiable on-call times.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year CVOR experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• CST certification preferred but not required.
• License required if applicable.
• Must be comfortable wearing lead.
• Experience with cardiac case types listed above required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a dedicated CVOR unit with 2 operating rooms.
• Cardiac case types include CABG, AVR, MVR, and ascending aortic repairs.
• Typically 3-4 cases per day.
• Cerner EMR used, IV pumps by Alaris, and Pyxis medication dispensing system.
• Scheduled shift is 6:30a-5p, 4x10s, no weekends on standard schedule.
• Weekend rotation of approximately 1 weekend day per 4-week schedule (Saturday or Sunday, not both).
• Call requirement negotiable with a 30-minute response time and no sleep room.
• No floating required.
• Work alongside a full support team including CRNAs, anesthesiologists, anesthesia techs, orderlies, charge RNs, an OR educator, and 24/7 respiratory therapy.
• Orientation includes 2 days with a preceptor.
• Minimal holiday coverage expected, with only major holidays observed in this OR.
• RTO subject to manager approval.
• Surgical scrubs provided.
• Free parking available.
• At least one prior travel assignment preferred.
