American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a hospital Operating Room assignment in Colorado. NBSTSA certification and 2 years of surgical tech experience are required.

You will scrub, assist surgeons, and maintain sterile fields in a fast-paced OR. The position includes 3x12 shifts, on-call weekends, and benefits through the health system. The role uses Epic EMR and reports to Surgical Services management; travel details negotiated by American Traveler.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Surgical Tech experience.
• 1 year of scrubbing experience.
• 1 year of clinical experience in an accredited hospital preferred.
• Active National Certification as an ORT in Surgery preferred.
• Ability to maintain a sterile field and address safety.
• Ability to respond to emergencies.

Responsabilités

• Hospital Operating Room setting
• 3x12hr Day shifts, 0645-1915, Monday-Friday; weekend call and holiday shifts
• Epic EMR used; Function as a member of the surgical team to ensure safe procedures
• Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and report to Surgical Services management
• Maintain accountability for sterilization criteria of OR and instruments
• Prepare the operating room and instruments for procedures
• Assist surgeons during procedures within ORT scope of practice
• Assist with sterile processing as needed
• Exercise judgement to identify emergencies
• Room turnover and prep for next procedure
• Surgical operations safety plan participation
• Travel assignment separation rule after one year in facility

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a hospital Operating Room position requiring NBSTSA certification and 2 years of surgical tech experience.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Surgical Tech experience
• 1 year of scrubbing experience
• 1 year of clinical experience in an accredited hospital preferred
• 1 year of experience in the specialty being submitted for required
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist credential required
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required, must not expire prior to start
• CO state license (DORA) required if applicable
• Completion of an accredited ORT program, or graduation from a non-accredited surgical tech program within the past 6 months, or 2 years of scrub tech experience in hospital/military surgical services within the last 3 years
• Active National Certification as an ORT in Surgery preferred
• Ability to maintain a sterile field and ensure environmental safety
• Ability to recognize and address sharps and fire safety processes
• Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations

• Exercise judgement to identify and respond to emergency situations
• Assist with room turnover, cleaning, and preparation for the next procedure
• Participate in the surgical operations safety plan
• Permanent staff must be separated from any facility within this health system for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment
