Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist proficient across multiple surgical specialties for a hospital operating room position.

Responsibilities include maintaining sterile field, assisting with instrument counts, and supporting OR teams across joint/trauma, neuro spine, vascular, and robotics. Shift is 8 hours from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM, totaling 40 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist with OR experience.
• Minimum 2 years of specialty experience; 3 years preferred for OR
• Recent experience within the last 3 months in the submitted specialty
• Cerner and Epic experience, if applicable, must be noted
• Surgery Technician certification preferred; license required if applicable

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgery unit within a hospital operating room setting.
• Proficient in all specialties including total joint/trauma, neuro spine, vascular, and robotics.
• Work 8-hour shifts from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM, 40 hours per week.
• Prepare for surgical cases by checking required supplies and equipment in advance.
• Assemble supplies and equipment prior to operative procedures and review specialty equipment inventory.
• Set up and maintain a sterile field with aseptic technique.
• Complete instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts with the RN per standards.
• Label solutions according to standards.
• Assist with cleaning equipment, housekeeping duties, and patient transport as needed.
• Perform clerical duties and other tasks as assigned.
• Work within a Magnet-designated hospital system.
• Vaccinations required; exemptions considered.
• Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction; local rates match travel rates.
