Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for an Ambulatory OR position in Charleston, SC. Requires NBSTSA certification, BLS, and at least 2 years of surgical tech experience.

The role entails day shifts (4x10 or 3x12), no weekends or on-call, potential to float within perioperative facilities, and Epic EMR use. Travel experience and local residency within 60 miles are preferred; first-time travelers are not accepted.

Qualifications

• NBSTSA certification required.
• BLS certification required (AHA only).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Ambulatory OR setting with 6 operating rooms and 1 procedure room.
• Day shift schedule of 4x10 hours (6:30 AM-5:00 PM) or 3x12 hours (6:30 AM-7:00 PM), Monday-Friday.
• One late week required every 4 weeks to complete cases.
• No weekend shifts or on-call requirements.
• Possibility of floating within the Perioperative facility.
• EPIC EMR used.
• May precept a care team member in the operating room.
• Radiation badge provided by parent company.
• Candidates must live within 60 miles to be considered local.
• Local candidates will be considered at a lower bill rate.
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position.
• Previous MUSC staff must be separated for 1 year.
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application.
• Traveler may be called off up to 10 hours per 2-week period.
• Approximately 4 hours of non-billable training required prior to start.
• During hurricane season, employees may be assigned to emergency response teams.
