American Traveler, LLC. seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a hospital Operating Room in Espanola, NM, with two years of large OR experience. You will assist in procedures, maintain sterile technique, and support surgeons while rotating across departments within 20 miles.

The role requires an accredited surgical tech program or equivalent, NBSTSA/NCCT credentials preferred, and BLS certification. Candidates must be able to work 10-hour shifts and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented

Formación

• Minimum of 2 years of current experience in a large OR setting.
• HS Diploma or GED with surgical technician training or accredited program.
• NBSTSA or NCCT credential accepted with equivalent experience.
• BLS certification required from recognized organizations.
• Ortho/ENT/vascular experience is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a team.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in hospital OR procedures and instrument handling.
• Work 10-hour shifts, 0630-1700, five days per week (40 hours).
• Float between departments within 20 miles as needed.
• Maintain sterile field and aseptic technique throughout procedures.
• Prepare patient skin, position, and assist during surgery.
• Count instruments, sponges, and needles, and monitor specimens.

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for a hospital Operating Room requiring two years of large OR experience.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of current experience in a large OR setting required
• HS Diploma or GED required, along with completion of a Surgical Technician training program or graduation from an accredited school
• Certified Surgical Technician credential from NBSTSA or NCCT plus 10 years of experience accepted in lieu of program completion
• BLS certification required through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
• CST certification through NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery certification through NCCT preferred
• Ortho, ENT, and/or vascular surgery experience a plus
• License required if applicable
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Hospital Operating Room setting
• 10-hour day shifts from 0630-1700, 5 days per week, 40 hours weekly
• Floating between departments and/or local facilities within 20 miles is required
• Epic EMR experience preferred but not required, on-site training available
• Prepare and provide instruments and equipment during surgical procedures under the supervision of the surgeon
• Perform instrument, sponge, and needle counts before and throughout procedures
• Maintain the sterile field and adhere to aseptic technique and safety protocols
• Prepare patient skin for surgical treatment and assist with patient positioning and repositioning during surgery
• Provide supportive care during the pre-operative phase and help monitor patients during surgery
• Ensure specimens are correctly handled and routed appropriately
• Maintain current knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and intraoperative medications
• Stay current with developments in the field through continuing education
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Former Presbyterian Health Services perm staff must wait one year before being eligible as a traveler
