• NBSTSA CST credential required.

• CSA certification through NCCSA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Hospital OR focused on orthopedic surgeries.
• Day shift 7:00 AM–5:00 PM, 4 days/week, 10 hours/day.
• On-call rotation for weekends/holidays.
• Functions as integral perioperative team member assisting surgeon.
• Scrub as first/second surgical tech or second circulator under RN supervision.
• Maintain sterile environment and asepsis.
• Assist with supply, room turnover, and inventory control.
• Provide age-specific care per policies.
• Participate in Quality/PI and Infection Control activities.
• Preceptor duties and scrubs for classes with students.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Hospital operating room unit focused primarily on orthopedic surgeries
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day
• On-call rotation required for weekends and holidays
• Epic charting experience required
• Functions as an integral member of the perioperative team assisting the surgeon
• May serve as first or second surgical technician or second circulator under RN supervision
• Applies principles of asepsis to maintain a sterile environment
• Performs closure of all layers of skin and assists with suctioning, tying, camera holding, and retracting during procedures
• Assists with supply and equipment organization, room turnover, and inventory control
• Provides age-specific care in accordance with departmental policies
• Participates in Quality Assessment/Performance Improvement and Infection Control activities
• Performs preceptor duties and scrubs in for classes with medical students and residents
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Workers may not continuously be on assignment for more than 1 year at this facility system, requiring a 6-month break before returning
