American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with 3+ years of experience in general, ortho, neuro, and gyn surgery for a hospital Surgical Services position.

The role requires CST and BLS credentials, is travel-oriented within the health system, and demands strict aseptic technique along with the ability to float between units. Prior travel experience is required, with employment details opening accordingly.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in general, ortho, neuro, and gyn surgery required
• BLS certification required
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
• ACLS certification preferred
• State license required if applicable
• Skilled in gynecologic procedures including abdominal hysterectomy, colporrhaphy, tubal ligation, D&C, and laparoscopic-assisted procedures
• Skilled in neurosurgical procedures including ALIF, craniotomy, VP shunt insertion, kyphoplasty, and XLIF
• Skilled in general surgery procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, laparoscopic-assisted procedures, and mastectomy
• Skilled in orthopedic procedures including arthroscopy and closed/open fracture reduction
• Proficient in aseptic technique and sterilization/disinfection practices
• Previous travel experience required
• Two professional references from the past 2 years required, with at least one from a supervisor
• SSN and DOB required at time of consideration

Responsabilités

• Work in a General OR setting supporting elective surgical cases for patients 2 years and older
• Non-elective pediatric cases are transferred to a children's facility
• Specializes in joint (hips & knees), neuro, and CV program procedures
• Varied schedule including 8, 10, and 12-hour day, evening, and night shifts depending on unit needs
• Day shift options include 4x10 hour shifts (6:45-17:15) and night shift options include 5x8 hour shifts (19:00-3:00)
• Call required 3-5 days per month
• Candidates must be willing to float as needed within the health system
• Support surgical teams across general, orthopedic, neuro, and gynecologic specialties
• Maintain sterile fields and adhere to strict aseptic technique and infection control standards
• Candidates must disclose RTO requests prior to consideration and have them approved before contract signing
• Up to 7 RTO days may be approved for regular offers, with some holiday RTO possible depending on the unit
• Local candidates within 60 miles of the facility are not accepted for this position
• Previous employees of the health system must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Proof of Washington state license application is required, and start date may be delayed up to 8 weeks while licensure is processed
• Candidates with more than one DUI are not eligible for consideration
• Epic EMR experience is not required but must be disclosed if applicable
