Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with 7+ years of experience for a hospital Surgical Services department supporting general, GYN, and robotics cases.

The role features a 13-week contract, a Monday–Friday schedule, and a call requirement of 1–2 nights per week plus every 4th weekend. Responsibilities include assisting with instrument setup, maintaining the sterile field, and collaborating with the circulating RN to ensure smooth operative cases across multiple OR

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Technical Diploma from an accredited Surgical Technologist program or comparable military training.
• BLS certification required.
• NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NCCT Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C) required.
• License required if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Hospital Surgical Services department with 15 OR suites, including hybrid and cardiothoracic rooms, plus PACU, sterile supply, pharmacy, and scheduling support areas.
• CST role covering general, GYN, and robotics surgical cases.
• Monday through Friday schedule, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
• Call requirement of 1 to 2 nights per week and every 4th weekend.
• 13-week contract assignment.
• Serve as primary scrub person or assistant for operative procedures.
• Prepare and set up surgical cases, ensuring instruments and supplies are sterilized and ready.
• Pass instruments and assist the surgeon during procedures, including cutting suture material or applying electrocautery under direct supervision.
• Perform instrument, sponge, and sharps counts and maintain the sterile field throughout the case.
• Assist with draping and patient positioning in collaboration with the circulating RN.
• Perform post-case cleanup, including gross decontamination of instruments and restocking the OR suite.
• Follow all instrument transport and return standards to Central Sterile Processing.
• Complete mandatory hospital education and maintain compliance with HR and Employee Health requirements.
• Accepts local candidates at a lower rate within a 75-mile radius.
