Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks an experienced RN for a Stepdown/CPU position in Georgia. Requires 3+ years of stepdown experience and GA or compact RN license. Cerner EMR experience essential, with telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, and respiratory care skills.

Night shifts, 3x12s, with weekend and holiday coverage. Travel-ready candidates preferred. High pay, housing allowance, and licensure reimbursements offered. Position focuses on cardiac/telemetry patients with CPU responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Active GA or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 3+ years of recent Stepdown experience.
• Cerner EMR experience required.
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, IV starts, and intermediate/advanced feeding management.
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy care.
• IV therapy/phlebotomy skills including central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care/management.
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, PCA, and heparin protocols.
• Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias and using Rapid Response/Code teams.
• Wound care/wound vac and isolation precaution/PPE experience.
• IV insulin protocol experience preferred.
• Pre/post cardiac catheterization and TR Band experience preferred.
• Renal failure management experience preferred.
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred.
• Previous travel experience preferred.
• Driver's license and updated immunization records required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Step-down/CPU nursing in a cardiac/telemetry unit.
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and respond to dysrhythmias.
• Maintain patient ratio 1:5.
• Use Cerner EMR for documentation.
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM).
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required.
• Provide step-down care to cardiac, telemetry, and neuro patients.
• Respond to rapid response protocols when needed.
• Adhere to isolation precautions and PPE guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Step-down/Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPU) setting
• Cardiac telemetry and MS/Tele patient population including CVA and GI cases
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Uses Cerner EMR
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• Provide step-down level nursing care to cardiac, telemetry, and neurological patients
• Monitor and respond to cardiac dysrhythmias and utilize rapid response protocols as needed
• Royal blue scrubs required (not provided)
• Minimal to no RTO accepted, especially around holidays
• Local candidates residing within 31-50 miles of the facility accepted at local rate
• Candidates living less than 30 miles from the facility are not accepted
• Up to 8 hours of non-billable training modules required prior to start, completed through HealthStream
