Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown/PCU RN for a 13-week assignment in Washington. Requires cardiac drip titration experience and a WA or compact RN license. You'll work in a Level II Trauma Center with 1:3-4 patient ratios on day shifts and some weekends.

Epic charting, BLS/ACLS/NIHSS certifications are required. Responsibilities include telemetry care, drip titration, respiratory support, IV therapy and line management, with potential unit floats.

Qualifications

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission.
• Cardiac drip titration and management experience is required.
• Epic charting experience is required.
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year in the last 3 years.
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in a Stepdown/PCU unit with cardiac telemetry.
• Manage drip titration and handle emergency responses within 1:3-4 patient ratios.
• Perform respiratory support, IV therapy, wound care and line management.
• Float to Telemetry or Med-Surg as needed, with Epic charting.
• Adhere to holiday commitments and RTO requests as required.

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
• Cardiac drip titration and management experience is a hard requirement
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills required include respiratory care, IV therapy, central/peripheral line management, and cardiac monitoring
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management preferred
• Charge nurse and teaching hospital experience preferred
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Work in a Stepdown/PCU unit within a Level II Trauma Center and teaching hospital
• Cardiac telemetry patient population requiring drip titration and management
• Patient ratios of 1:3-4
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• May float to Telemetry or Med-Surg floors if overstaffed, with travelers floated first
• Uses Epic charting system
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to stepdown/PCU cardiac telemetry patients, including monitoring, drip titration, and emergency response
• Responsibilities include respiratory support, wound care, IV therapy, and management of various drips and protocols
• Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
• Former Providence employees may return as travelers after a 3-month break, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history at Providence facilities as permanent staff, travelers, or per-diem
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Radius rule of 50 miles applies for return staff eligibility
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Only one holiday choice permitted between Thanksgiving or Christmas
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront; limited flexibility once contract begins
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Scrubs of any color permitted for RNs
