Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Night Shift RN for a Stepdown/PCU position in Washington with cardiac drip titration experience. WA or compact RN license required. Night shift (19:00–07:00) in a teaching hospital environment with Level II Trauma Center exposure.

Requirements include BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications, 1 year of stepdown/PCU nursing, and Epic charting proficiency. Travel hospital setting offers housing allowances and licensure reimbursements.

• Cardiac drip titration and management experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care on Night Shift in Stepdown/PCU within a Level II Trauma Center.
• Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and Rapid Response involvement.
• Manage telemetry, renal, neurological and GI needs with 1:4-5 nurse-patient ratios.
• May float to Tele or Med-Surg; may float between sister facilities.
• Use Epic charting system for documentation.
• Commit to 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day).

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Stepdown/PCU position requiring cardiac drip titration experience and a WA or compact RN license in hand.

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum of 1 year of stepdown or PCU nursing experience required
• Cardiac drip titration and management experience is a hardstop requirement
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Responsibilities

• Stepdown/PCU unit in a short term acute care, Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center teaching hospital
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• May float to Tele or Med-Surg floors if overstaffed, with priority given to travelers
• May be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted site
• Epic charting system used
• Manage patients with cardiac telemetry, respiratory, renal, neurological, and gastrointestinal needs
• Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Skills include central/peripheral/PICC line care, IV therapy, wound care, and insulin drip titration
• Scrub color for RNs is any color
• No parking fee at this facility
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Candidates may choose one holiday off between Thanksgiving or Christmas, but not both
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee and must not live within 50 miles of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius to qualify for standard travel bill rate
