American Traveler is seeking a Telemetry RN for a night shift at a Level II Trauma teaching hospital in Washington. A neurology background and NIHSS proficiency are required, along with an active WA RN license.

duties include telemetry and neurological nursing care, 1:5 patient ratio, and 19:00–07:00 shifts with every other weekend. Travel may be required for non-local candidates with housing and licensure benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift assignment requiring neurology experience and NIHSS proficiency at a Level II Trauma teaching hospital.

Requirements

• Active WA state or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience required
• Neurology RN experience required, including comfort with the NIH Stroke Scale and post-surgical neurology patient care
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP) preferred
• Experience with chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac) preferred
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Work in the Telemetry unit of a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital
• Neurology patient population including post-surgical neuro, CVA, craniotomy, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury cases
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating between units required
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic charting system
• Provide telemetry and neurological nursing care including monitoring, medication administration, and procedural sedation support
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate, though local candidates are accepted at a lower bill rate
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel RN, and must reside outside a 50-mile radius
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility as permanent, travel, or per-diem staff
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Scrub color for RNs is not restricted to a specific color
