Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown/Med Surg overflow assignment in a Level I Trauma Center. Prior travel experience and at least one completed travel assignment are required.

Responsibilities include day shifts (3x12s, 7:00-19:00), on-call and weekend rotations, with floating within a 20-mile radius and work in a ST Acute Care Level I Trauma Center hospital. Local candidates must live 100 miles away. First-time travelers are not accepted.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (TN or compact) in compliance with NLC guidelines, no pending licensure accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required, 3+ years preferred
• ADN accepted
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• Prior travel experience required, including at least 1 completed travel assignment
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Vaccination status required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Work in the Stepdown unit, covering Med Surg overflow with Neuro experience preferred
• Team nursing model with a 1:12 ratio split between 2 RNs, 2 LPNs, a med nurse, and charge nurse
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:00), 36 or 48 hours per week with potential schedule changes based on staffing needs
• On-call required as needed
• Weekend rotation required as needed
• Floating may occur between like units and campuses within a 20-mile radius
• Work in a Short Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma Center hospital
• Holiday coverage required: if Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall during the assignment, must work 2 of the 3; if only 2 holidays fall during the assignment, must work at least 1
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
• Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Former travelers who completed a full year assignment must wait 1 full year before returning
• Weekend block scheduling may be considered, but block schedules are generally not accommodated
• Local candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
