American Traveler is hiring a Neuro Stepdown RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 2 years of experience and BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact or VA) required in hand
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, neuro experience preferred
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Candidates with pending certifications will be considered
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skills needed include IV therapy, arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, CVA/acute stroke management, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and IV insulin protocols
• BSN not required

Responsibilities

• Neuro Intermediate/Stepdown unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 schedule (19:00-07:00)
• General expectation of 2-3 weekends per month based on unit needs
• On-call requirements based on unit needs
• Floating required, with travelers prioritized first for floating
• Cerner/Oracle Health charting experience preferred but not required
• Provide neuro/stepdown level nursing care including monitoring and management of complex neurological and cardiac patients
• Biweekly orientation held on Mondays
• 8-10 hours of required orientation and annual modules
• Scrubs not provided
• Nicotine-free campus
• Must reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility
• Former Centra employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Holiday coverage required in rotation with staff as indicated in assignment confirmation
• RTO must be approved prior to assignment start, with a preference for no RTO in the first weeks
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
