American Traveler, LLC is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Telemetry Stepdown assignment in Madison, WI.

Requirements include active WI or Compact license, BLS/ACLS/NIHSS certs, 1 year of recent nursing and travel nursing experience; telemetry, neuro stepdown, and Epic EMR proficiency are required. Shifts are 3x12 hours; travel housing allowance provided and travel reimbursements offered. First-time travelers not accepted; local within 70 miles considered not local.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience.
• Prior Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience.

Responsibilities

• Care for stroke, neurosurgery, trauma patients in fast-paced stepdown unit.
• Perform cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation.
• Utilize rapid response/code teams as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for patient education and care planning.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro Telemetry Stepdown position requiring NIHSS certification and prior travel experience.

Requirements

• Active RN license (WI or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience required
• Prior experience in Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown settings required
• Trauma Level II hospital experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Work in a busy stroke/neuro/trauma stepdown unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes stroke, neurosurgery, trauma, and general med/surg and IMC/stepdown level of care
• Typical patient assignment is 1:4, which may be higher when additional resources are available
• Specialized procedures include lumbar drains, NIHSS assessments, and stroke education
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:0 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Provide nursing care to stroke, neurosurgery, and trauma patients in a fast-paced stepdown environment
• Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and utilize rapid response/code teams as needed
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Must be clean-shaven to ensure proper mask seal for respirator fit testing; no medical or religious exemptions accepted, and CAPRs/PAPRs are not provided or permitted
• Candidates living within 70 miles of the facility are considered local and will not be accepted
• Clinicians may not work as a traveler for more than 1 year at this facility without taking a 6-month break before returning
