American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Telemetry RN for a 13-week night shift assignment in Wisconsin. Requires at least 2 years of med/surg and PCU experience and an active WI or compact RN license, with BLS and ACLS.

First-time travelers must have at least 3 years of experience in a hybrid unit. Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, mixed acuity PCU/telemetry/ICU, and Cerner charting. Night shifts, weekend/holiday coverage, and standby/float duties apply.

Qualifications

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring at least 2 years of med/surg and PCU experience, with a WI or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in med/surg and PCU required
• First-time travelers must have at least 3 years of experience in a hybrid unit
• Must have acute care experience within the specialty in the last 3 years
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to assignment start
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drip management

Responsibilities

• Telemetry unit within a hospital clinic setting
• Mixed acuity patient population including PCU, telemetry, and occasional ICU patients
• Patient ratio of 1:3-6
• Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts from 18:30 to 07:00
• Weekend rotation required, with option for more weekends in exchange for flexible scheduling
• Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis
• Standby call required as needed
• Floating required as needed
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Provide direct patient care in a mixed acuity cardiac telemetry/PCU environment
• Participate in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
• Free onsite parking available
• Telemetry exam requires 100% identification of lethal rhythms and a passing score of 80% or higher on both adult and pediatric exams
• Up to two attempts allowed to pass telemetry exam; a third attempt requires completion of a cardiac interpretation review course
• Assignment will be cancelled if telemetry exam is not passed after three attempts
• First-time travelers considered if they meet minimum experience requirements
