Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a PCU Float RN with telemetry and Med Surg experience for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring a TX or compact RN license. The role includes floating across Med Surg and telemetry units, a 1:5 patient ratio, and a daytime schedule.

Required are active TX/compact RN licensure, BLS/ACLS/NIHSS, 2+ years RN experience, and travel nursing background. Onsite drug screening, housing allowance and travel reimbursements are provided.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred.
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown, and MS/Tele units.
• IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration.
• BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and ABG interpretation.
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, and interpreting dysrhythmias.
• Wound care and isolation precaution experience.

Responsibilities

• PCU Float position supporting primarily Med Surg units with floating required.
• Patient ratio of 1:5.
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00.
• Weekend work required as needed, which may include most weekends during the contract.
• Block scheduling may be accommodated, but set schedules cannot be approved.
• Epic EMR experience preferred.
• Provide care to Med Surg and telemetry patients with floating support across units.
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with mandatory compliance.
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted.
• Must complete facility orientation modules, averaging 2-3 hours, during the first 16 hours of orientation.
• Must be able to complete required lab items within 72 hours of accepting an offer or provide a completion plan.
