Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) assignment in Murfreesboro, TN. Requires 1+ year stepdown experience, NIH Stroke Scale certification, and TN license with BLS/ACLS.

Responsibilities include caring for 36-bed PCU patients, neuro checks, and trauma cases. Shift is 12 hours (12:00–00:00). Covid vaccination not required. First-time travelers welcome.

Qualifications

• Active TN or compact RN license required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA).
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience.
• Nursys license verification within 30 days before start.
• Current license and primary source verification within 30 days.
• Must possess a US SSN and provide a US home address.

Responsibilities

• Manage Progressive Care Unit (Stepdown) with 36-bed capacity.
• Care for patients on BiPAP, vasopressors, trauma, and neuro cases.
• Handle stroke patients requiring Q2 neuro checks and craniotomy cases.
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 3:1.
• Work 12-hour shifts from 12:00 to 24:00.
• Support contract extensions with management starting ~45 days before end.
• Local candidates may be considered at reduced rate based on location.

Responsibilities

• Progressive Care Unit (Stepdown) with 36-bed capacity
• Patient population includes continuous BiPAP, low-dose vasopressors, trauma, lumbar drains, CIWA, hyponatremia, emergency dialysis, hyperkalemia, antifreeze ingestion, home vents/trachs, sheath removal, CEA, rhabdo, Precedex, stroke patients requiring Q2 neuro checks, stable craniotomies, and fentanyl drips
• Patients range from young adult through late adult (18-60+)
• Nurse to patient ratio of 3:1
• 12-hour shifts from 12:00-00:00
• 13-week assignment length
• Provide stepdown-level nursing care for a medically complex patient population
• Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate depending on facility location
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Covid vaccination is not required
• Candidates should begin discussing contract extensions with management approximately 45 days before assignment end date
