Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Progressive Care Unit RN with at least 2 years of step-down experience for a 13-week Days contract in Illinois. Active IL RN licensure is required, along with BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.

The role involves a 12-hour Day shift on a 24-bed PCU with potential weekend work and use of the EPIC EMR system. Responsibilities include managing dysrhythmias, cardiopulmonary issues, sepsis, and high-flow O2 needs, while administering medication drips and collaborating

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of step-down/PCU experience.
• BSN not required.

Responsibilities

• Care for PCU stepdown patients in a Trauma Level 2 hospital.
• 12-hour Day shifts; may work up to every other weekend.
• Administer drips and monitor hemodynamics.
• Use EPIC EMR for documentation.
• High patient throughput typical of step-down units; unit educator supports staff training.

Responsibilities

• Progressive Care Unit (Stepdown) in an acute care hospital, Trauma Level 2
• 24-bed unit with 1:3 or 1:4 patient ratio depending on acuitify
• Patient population includes dysrhythmias, cardiopulmonary issues, sepsis, high-flow O2 needs, and behavioral patients requiring IV drip medications
• Administers medication drips including dopamine, levophed, cardizem, heparin, precedex, nitro, amio, dobutamine, and Nicardine
• 12-hour Day shifts
• May work up to every other weekend
• Uses EPIC EMR
• High patient throughput typical of step-down units
• Unit educator works closely with staff to support ongoing training
• Cancellation policy allows 3 shifts per 13-week (or longer) contract and 2 shifts per 12-week (or shorter) contract
