American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a highly skilled RN for a Mixed Acuity PCU travel assignment in Indiana. Strong neuro experience and active IN or compact RN license required. Night shifts 4x12, Cerner charting, and travel housing support are provided.

Qualifications include ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, 18+ months RN experience with neuro focus, and references. This position involves stroke, cardiac, oncology, and multidisciplinary care across floors, with emphasis on patient safety and rapid response.

Responsabilités

• Care for mixed acuity units including medical-surgical, stroke, cardiac, oncology, GI and pulmonary.
• Manage cardizem, amiodarone, and insulin drips.
• Night shift 4x12 hours; some 3x12 options.
• Provide nursing care with Cerner charting; travel within facility as needed.
• NS/IR patient safety and monitoring of dysrhythmias.

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Mixed Acuity PCU position requiring strong neuro experience and an active IN or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active RN license (IN or Compact) required, must be in hand prior to start date
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS (AHA and RQI accepted)
• Minimum 18 months of RN experience required, with strong MS/Tele or PCU experience preferred
• Solid neurological nursing experience required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Skills needed include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, blood product administration, and heparin protocols
• Experience managing and interpreting cardiac dysrhythmias and cardiac monitoring required
• Experience with non-invasive airway management including BiPap/CPAP and nasal cannula
• IV insulin protocol management experience required
• RN degree must be from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Mixed acuity unit encompassing medical-surgical, oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal and pulmonary patients
• MS patients at 1:5-6 ratio and PCU-level patients at 1:3-4 ratio
• Manages cardizem, amiodarone, and insulin drips
• Cares for unstable stroke patients and BiPap management
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (18:00-06:30), with some 3x12 options
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
• Short-term acute care facility with 194 staffed beds
• Provide nursing care across medical, oncology, stroke, cardiac, GI, and pulmonary patient populations
• Scrub requirement: red top with black bottoms
• Free parking available on-site
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• RTO of 5 days or less can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates (IN residents) are not accepted for this position
• Prior IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Current or past IU Health travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment must complete a consecutive eligibility reset break (90 days for out-of-state residents, 180 days for in-state residents)
