American Traveler, LLC is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) assignment in Michigan. The role requires an active MI RN license and at least two years of acute care experience, with Epic charting and Pyxis meds proficiency.

Night shifts are 4x12 hours (18:45-07:15) with every-other-weekend duty. Travel nurses are considered with strict references and background checks; housing and licensure assistance provided.

• Float to ICU/ER/Behavioral Health as needed

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring an active MI license in hand and at least 2 years of acute care experience.

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required in hand
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• First-time travelers considered only if they have more than 3 years of experience
• Two professional references from within the last 24 months required, with one reference contact submitted within 72 hours of signing
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Mixed PCU unit covering Med Surg/Tele and Med Surg patients at a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Adult and geriatric patient population with diagnoses including COVID, stroke, NSTEMI, chest pain, AKI, pneumonia, COPD exacerbation, CHF exacerbation, cellulitis, and AMS
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Utilizes a Pilot Team Nursing Model (RN with LPN support for 6 patients)
• Uses Pyxis medication system and Safe Patient Handling Equipment
• Telemetry work setting requiring interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Epic charting system used
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (18:45-7:15)
• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
• No on-call requirement
• Floating required to other areas such as ICU, ER, and Behavioral Health as needed based on scope and experience
• No block scheduling accommodations
• Provide telemetry-level nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response within a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Must strictly adhere to the facility's call-off policy
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require management approval
• Two pre-approved time-off requests allowed per contract
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are not accepted
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year to be eligible
