Job summary

American Traveler, LLC is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Hybrid PCU/Medical-Surgical unit in Tennessee. The role requires a TN or compact RN license and at least 2 years of nursing experience, including 1 year in PCU, with telemtry experience preferred. Shifts are 3x12s (6:30-19:00) on a 36/36 schedule, with no call and weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• Active TN or compact RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year in PCU, documented within past 2 years.
• AHA BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred.
• Telemetry experience preferred.
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen, and nasal cannula.
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs.
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation experience.
• AHA certification is the only accepted form for BLS and ACLS.

Responsibilities

• Hybrid PCU/Medical-Surgical unit assignment.
• 1:5 patient ratio on PCU, 1:7 ratio on MS.
• 36/36 schedule with day shifts (3x12 hours, 6:30-19:00).
• No call responsibilities, with rotating weekend coverage.
• Epic charting system experience preferred.
• Provide nursing care across PCU and Medical-Surgical/Telemetry settings.
• Participate in nursing student support and clinical education.
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online coursework (CBLs).
• Relias EKG testing required within 72 hours of signing, with cancellation risk for failed attempts.
• Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines.
• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted.
• First-time travelers welcome; Level I trauma facility experience preferred.

• Telemetry experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, oxygen administration, and nasal cannula
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation experience
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
• AHA certification is the only accepted form for BLS and ACLS
