Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position in Washington. The role requires a WA or compact RN license and 2 years of IMU-level RN experience. ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are required along with Epic EMR experience.

The nurse will work on a mixed Tele/IMCU unit across two hospital floors, rotating nights 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, and may float to other units as needed. Travel staffing rules apply.

Qualifications

• Active WA license or compact license required at consideration.

• NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years IMU-level RN experience.
• Epic charting/EMR experience required.
• Strong cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation skills.
• Experience with chest tube care and central line management.

Responsibilities

• Provide care on a mixed Telemetry/IMCU unit with two hospital floors.
• Night shift: 7:00 PM–7:30 AM, 3x12‑hour shifts.
• May float to IMCU, Tele, or CDU as needed.
• Perform pre/post cardiac cath care and cardioversion/defibrillation.
• Administer medications including amiodarone and antiarrhythmics.
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients.
• Adhere to Providence-related staffing rules and travel requirements as applicable.

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring 2 years of IMU-level RN experience and WA or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent IMU-level RN experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Strong skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and cardiac drip management (no titration)
• Experience with chest tube care (Emerson/PleurEvac), tracheostomy care, central and peripheral line management, and blood product administration
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Mixed Tele and IMCU unit spanning two hospital floors
• IMCU (3E) with 1:3 patient ratio; Tele (2E) with 1:4 patient ratio
• Adult and geriatric patients with respiratory failure, cardiac, renal, CIWA, and GI conditions
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
• May float to IMCU, Tele, or CDU
• Performs pre/post cardiac cath care, cardioversion/defibrillation, and 12-lead EKGs
• Manages BiPAP/CPAP, cooling/warming blankets, drains, epidural pumps, feeding tubes, PCA pumps, PICC/central lines, Port-A-Cath, syringe pumps, triple lumen catheters, and wound vacs
• Administers amiodarone, antiarrhythmics, and anti-seizure medications
• Epic EMR experience required
• Provides comprehensive nursing care to a mixed Tele/IMCU adult and geriatric population
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history (permanent, travel, or per-diem) at any Providence-affiliated facility
• Previous Providence facility perm employees must be separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months before returning as a travel RN
• Returning staff must also reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify
• Local candidates accepted at the standard local bill rate
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
• May be required to float between sister facilities within the healthcare system
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
