Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a night-shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit in Washington. WA or Compact RN licensure and PCU experience required at minimum, with BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications.

The role involves 24-bed PCU care, 1:3-4 patient ratios, and drips titration. EPIC EMR experience is preferred; 12-hour nights 1800–0630 with weekend requirements and regional float. Housing allowances and travel support may apply.

Responsibilities

• Care for a 24-bed Acute Care Progressive Care Unit (Stepdown).
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:3-4 with nurse aide support at 1:10.
• Titrate drips (Amiodarone, Diltiazem, Dopamine, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, Dobutamine).
• Remote monitor techs manage telemetry with RN approval.
• Support with 12-hour night shifts (1800–0630) with potential day shifts.
• Require every-other-weekend schedule and unit floating with regional priority.
• Standby call possible if additional staffing is available.
• 24/7 charge nurse and house supervisor on unit.
• Provide stepdown-level nursing care for medically complex patients.
• Collaborate with remote monitor techs for telemetry readings.
• Holiday coverage for 2 winter holidays.
• Unit-specific orientation provided.

• Common diagnoses include pneumonia, ARDS, COVID-19, hypertensive urgency, angina, cardiac cath patients, and ETOH withdrawal
• RNs required to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Diltiazem, Dopamine, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and Dobutamine
• Remote monitor techs manage telemetry with RN approval
• RT equipment used includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen
• Uses EPIC EMR
• 12-hour night shifts from 1800-0630 with possible flex to days
• Every other weekend requirement
• Floating required, with priority as first to float within the region to other network hospitals
• Standby call possible only if extra staffing is available
• 24/7 charge nurse and house supervisor support on unit
• Provide stepdown-level nursing care to medically complex patients requiring close monitoring
• Collaborate with remote monitor techs for telemetry readings
• Holiday coverage required for 2 winter holidays
• Unit-specific orientation provided
• No specific scrub color or dress code required
