Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night-shift assignment in Ohio, requiring stepdown/PCU experience and ventilator management skills. The unit is neuroscience/high-risk respiratory with mixed acuity and flexible float across campuses.

Role involves 4x12 hour nights (19:00-7:30), rotating weekends/holidays, and a team nursing model. Epic EMR is used for charting; travel nursing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Active OH or compact RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 1.5 years of relevant nursing experience.
• Ventilator management experience required.
• Epic charting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• 36-bed Neuroscience/High-Risk Respiratory intermediate care unit.
• Mixed acuity unit caring for CVA, TIA, seizure, and neuro patients with high-risk respiratory/COVID overflow capability.
• Targeted patient ratios of 1:4-6.
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 19:00-7:30.
• Work every other weekend and every other holiday.
• Floating across main, south, and north campuses within 15-mile radius.

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night-shift assignment requiring stepdown/PCU experience and ventilator management skills.

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1.5 years of relevant nursing experience
• SD or PCU ratio experience required in work history; ICU experience does not qualify
• Ventilator management experience required
• Must pass an online EKG telemetry competency assessment prior to starting
• Epic charting experience preferred
• IV start skills preferred
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred

Responsibilities

• 36-bed Neuroscience/High-Risk Respiratory intermediate care unit
• Mixed acuity unit caring for CVA, TIA, seizure, and neuro patients, with high-risk respiratory/COVID overflow capability
• Targeted patient ratios of 1:4-6
• Participates in a team nursing model where RNs, LPNs, and PCTs share patient care responsibilities
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 19:00-7:30
• Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday
• Floating required across main, south, and north campuses within a 15-mile radius based on facility need
• Uses heated high flow oxygen and BiPAP equipment
• Epic EMR used for charting
• Provide skilled nursing care to a diverse neuroscience and high-risk respiratory patient population
• May be assigned a buddy when floated to the Neuro ICU
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Facility may cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract due to low census
• Maximum of 14 days RTO allowed per contract, must be requested at time of submission
• No RTO or schedule changes permitted after an offer is made
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
• Former Premier Health perm/PRN employees or previously non-extended agency staff must wait 6 months before reapplying as a traveler and require facility rehire approval
• Lab work and EKG/Dysrhythmia exam must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing
