American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a PCU RN for night shift assignment with a PA or Compact RN license and at least 1 year of PCU/telemetry experience.

The role includes rotating to various units within a hospital, 1:6 patient ratios, and a 19:00–07:30 schedule (3x12 or 4x12). Travel and housing assistance are provided; per diems and reimbursements apply.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (PA or Compact)
• 1 year recent PCU/telemetry experience
• Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• IV therapy and central/peripheral line care
• Respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, oxygen

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for cardiac, telemetry, neuro and post-surgical patients on PCU/stepdown
• Maintain 1:6 nurse-patient ratio
• Night shift 19:00–07:30; 3x12 or 4x12 schedules
• Floater within hospital and nearby sister facilities
• Support rapid response and code team activations
• Travel considerations: local candidates not accepted; some requirements per policy
• Complete pre-start orientation and mandatory screenings

American Traveler is hiring a PCU RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 1 year of experience and a PA or Compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active PA or Compact RN license required
• AHA-issued BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU/telemetry experience required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry required
• Skills in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration required
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and oxygen administration required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• PICC line management, ABG interpretation, and thrombolytic agent administration preferred
• Experience with cardiac drips, TBI care, and total joint/traction care preferred
• SSN, DOB, driver's license, and RTO required for consideration
• Two supervisor references preferred

Responsibilities

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a hospital
• 1:6 patient ratio
• Night shift, offered as 3x12 or 4x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
• Floating required within the hospital, including to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed
• Every other holiday coverage required
• Cerner experience preferred
• Provide direct patient care to cardiac, telemetry, neurological, and post-surgical patients on a progressive care/stepdown unit
• Participate in rapid response and code team activations as needed
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license address
• Local candidates are not accepted
• Former permanent employees must have been separated for at least 2 years before applying through an agency
• Travelers who have completed a cumulative year within the health system must wait two years before returning
• Travel pairs may be accommodated based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed
• Fingerprinting, drug screening, and required labs must be completed within 24-48 hours of signing
• All compliance requirements must be cleared by the Wednesday prior to start
• Pre-start orientation modules (approximately 1 hour) must be completed before entering the facility
