American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit in North Carolina. Requires 18 months PCU experience and an NC or Compact RN license.

You will work in a Trauma Level III teaching hospital with a 1:4-6 RN to patient ratio and float obligations within Region 1 facilities. Position includes night shifts (14 rooms, 36 hours/week) and comprehensive benefits with travel-friendly requirements.

Qualifications

• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 18 months of PCU RN experience; last year preferred
• Skills include PIV starts, NG tube management, Pleurx drains, surgical drain management, chest tube management, rhythm interpretation
• Epic EMR experience required
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference from Supervisor/Manager/Director/Charge RN

Responsibilities

• Work in the Medical Telemetry/PCU unit of a Trauma Level III teaching hospital
• Maintain 1:4-6 (acuity dependent) RN to patient ratios; CNA 1:7
• Use Epic EMR, Alaris pumps, Omnicell, and Phillips monitors
• Provide direct patient care in Chest Pain Center, Stroke Center, and Bariatric Center of Excellence
• Float within Region 1 facilities as staffing requires
• Complete orientation including NEO and departmental sessions
• Travelers may work 75% of holidays

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 18 months of PCU experience and a NC or compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 18 months of PCU RN experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
• Skills required include PIV starts, NG tube placement/management, Pleurx drains, surgical drain management, chest tube management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, non-titratable cardiac drips (Cardizem), and TR bands
• Epic EMR experience required
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Responsibilities

• Work in the Medical Telemetry/PCU unit of a Trauma Level III teaching hospital
• 14 private rooms with no negative pressure capability
• Patient population includes heart failure, chest pain, fluid resuscitation/blood products, COPD, and cardiac cath pre/post cases, as well as medical overflow
• RN to patient ratio of 1:4-6 (acuity dependent, surge up to 1:7-8), or 1:4 for PCU patients; CNA ratio of 1:7
• Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors
• Unit-specific equipment includes bladder scanner, EKG machine, and transport monitor
• 12-hour night shift schedule (1845-0715) on a 6-week cycle, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend rotation required
• No on-call requirements
• Required to float within Region 1 facilities (Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division including CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH) based on staffing needs
• Provide direct patient care in a Chest Pain Center, Stroke Center of Excellence, and Bariatric Center of Excellence
• Support team includes CNAs trained in phlebotomy, 12-lead EKGs, and glucometer use, a dedicated IV/VAT team, 24/7 Respiratory Therapy, and 24/7 Hospitalist coverage
• Charge nurse may or may not carry a patient assignment
• Telemetry monitoring is performed remotely in an off-unit arrhythmia center with visual EKG access at the nurses' station
• Orientation includes New Employee Orientation (NEO) and 2 days of departmental orientation
• Travelers will be required to work 75% of holidays
• Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays, with any missed contracted hours added to the end of the contract
• Navy scrub color required
• Free parking available
• Unit culture is described as professional and team-oriented
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• Returning employees must be separated from any Advocate Health Southeast facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
