Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position with cardiac telemetry experience and Epic proficiency. The role requires travel eligibility and a day shift schedule on a PCU/Telemetry unit.

Responsibilities include monitoring cardiac patients, responding to dysrhythmias, and collaborating with a high-acuity team across Cone Health campuses. First-time travelers welcome; housing and reimbursements provided.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) in hand at time of consideration.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience.
• Cardiac telemetry experience required.
• Epic charting system experience required.
• BiPAP/CPAP management, ABG interpretation, IV therapy and central line care preferred.
• Experience with cardiac drip titration, CVP monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation preferred.
• Teaching hospital and charge nurse experience preferred.
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam with up to two attempts allowed.
• Current driver's license required to verify address.

Responsibilities

• PCU/Cardiac Telemetry care focusing on cardiac and respiratory patients.
• Care for Heart Failure, NSTEMI, Respiratory Failure, COPD, Pneumonia.
• Day shift: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, 3x12 hours.
• Every other weekend with holiday coverage as needed.
• Floating to Cone Health campuses as needed.
• Provide cardiac telemetry care with a respiratory focus.
• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and respond to dysrhythmias.
• Manage feeding tubes, isolation, IV insulin protocols as needed.

• Epic EMR experience required
• Provide cardiac telemetry care with a secondary focus on respiratory conditions
• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and respond to dysrhythmias and emergencies
• Manage feeding tubes, isolation precautions, and IV insulin protocols as needed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Prior travel experience is not required
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, and no local candidates will be accepted
• RTO must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO requests accepted
