American Traveler, LLC is hiring an RN for a 41-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift in Columbia, SC. The role requires ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and 1+ year of trauma/telemetry experience with Epic EMR proficiency.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Active RN license (SC state or compact) required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a similar unit required
• 2+ years of specialty experience required for first-time travelers
• Minimum 1 year of experience with Epic EMR required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/PICC line care, blood product administration, and telemetry monitoring
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management preferred
• Experience with wound care, isolation precautions, and PPE protocols

Responsibilities

• Work in a 41-bed progressive care trauma/telemetry unit caring for adult patients recovering from traumatic injury requiring surgical intervention
• Typical patient diagnoses include gunshot wounds, penetrating injuries, assaults, motor vehicle crashes, and falls
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4, flexing up to 1:5 as needed
• Telemetry monitoring available for up to 14 patients, including hemodynamically stable patients in designated bed areas
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
• 36 hours per week with 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• Floating to other qualified units or campuses may be required based on census needs
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV Teams, PT, Respiratory, Pharmacy, Rapid Response Teams, and Social Services
• Provide skilled nursing care to adult trauma and progressive care patients, including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Participate in mandatory orientation held every Monday along with annual compliance training
• Complete pre-assignment testing and required modules within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• Must reside more than 100 miles from any Prisma Health facility to be eligible for full travel rate, with reduced rate for 90-99.9 miles
• Night shift travelers in this specialty must live at least 50 miles from the contracted campus to be eligible
• First-time travelers considered with 2+ years of specialty experience
