Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care (IMC) position requiring 2 years of experience and prior travel assignment experience.

The role is in Tyler, TX and uses the Epic charting system to deliver intermediate care with cardiac monitoring and rapid response duties. The candidate should hold an active Texas or Compact RN license, BLS/ACLS, and be comfortable with 3x12 hour shifts, a 1:4 patient load, and occasional float and weekend work.

Qualifications

• Active TX or Compact RN license in hand at time of consideration.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience required.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works in the Intermediate Care (IMC) unit.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:00 PM).
• Patient ratio of 1:4.
• Float and weekend work required.
• Uses Epic charting system.
• Provide intermediate care nursing services including cardiac monitoring and emergency response.
• Participate in rapid response and code team activations as needed.

Requirements

• Active TX or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and telemetry monitoring
• Experience with ventilated patients, chest tubes, HFNC, and ABG interpretation preferred
• Experience with CVA, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury care preferred
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drip titration preferred
• Experience with ortho trauma and total joint replacement preferred

• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties will not be contracted
• First-time travelers will be considered if they meet the experience requirements
