Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry/IMC float pool, requiring recent Epic experience and prior travel history. This position covers Med/Surg Telemetry and IMC units in a hospital setting.

Night shift is 4×12 hours from 18:30 to 7:00 with rotating assignments, with travel requirements and strict licensure, certification, and safety screening criteria. Travelers may receive housing support and comprehensive benefits; high patient acuity includes ARDS, septic shock, MI,

Qualifications

• Active RN license (MD state-specific or Compact).
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of Telemetry experience in hospital setting.
• Minimum 2 years of IMC/PCU/Stepdown experience in hospital setting.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Recent Epic charting system experience required.
• Flu shot required with no exceptions.
• Two-step PPD testing required with no exceptions.

Responsibilities

• Float pool position covering Med/Surg Telemetry and IMC units within a hospital setting.
• Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:6.
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 18:30 to 07:00.
• Floating between MS and IMC units as part of rotation.
• Expect to work some holidays and weekends.
• Care for patients with acute respiratory distress, septic shock, hypertensive crisis, and myocardial infarction.

• Care for patients with acute respiratory distress, septic shock, hypertensive crisis, severe congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, unstable angina, and trauma
• Skills include IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, arterial line management, and cardiac drip management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response/code team activation
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius will not be accepted
• Travelers must separate for a minimum of 90 days after 1 year before being eligible to return
• Former permanent employees must be separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• RTO must be submitted and approved prior to assignment confirmation
