Job summary

Qualifications

• 2+ years of concurrent telemetry/medical-surgical experience
• 1.5 years of continuous specialty experience with limited breaks
• Travel nursing experience required with 1 year total travel experience
• Epic or combined Epic/Cerner experience within last 6 months
• Community hospital experience required; Teaching hospital/Trauma Level I preferred
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, neuro/psychiatric conditions, respiratory management, IV therapy, and dysrhythmia management
• 1 supervisory-level professional reference required
• Copies of required AHA certifications and active license verification required

Responsibilities

• Telemetry unit duties in a community hospital setting
• Maintain 1:4 patient ratio
• Day shift: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, 3x12-hour shifts
• Weekend commitments: 4 shifts in a 4-week cycle
• Holiday coverage required, including holiday weekends
• May float to similar units or lower-acuity units as needed
• Occasional travel to another campus/location may be required
• Use Epic EMR system for charting
• Provide telemetry nursing care with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Administer respiratory support and IV therapy, blood products as ordered
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration
• Must reside outside 100-mile radius of facility except LVNs/LPNs
• First-time travelers not considered; returning staff must wait 1 year

• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• 2+ years of concurrent experience in specialty required
• 1.5 years of continuous specialty experience with no breaks required, unless floating or demonstrating equivalent experience at the same ratios
• Travel nursing experience required with 1 year total travel experience
• 6+ months of continuous travel experience immediately preceding consideration, with no gaps except minimal pre-approved vacations or brief onboarding/relocation periods
• Epic or combined Epic/Cerner experience within the last 6 months required
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, neurological/psychiatric conditions, respiratory management, IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia management
• 1 supervisory-level professional reference required

Responsibilities

• Community hospital setting in the Telemetry unit
• 1:4 patient ratio
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Weekend commitment of 4 shifts within a 4-week cycle
• Holiday coverage required including the holiday weekend
• May be required to float to like units or lower acuity units (excluding ED) across the organization's 5 hospitals, at or below skillset
• Occasional floating to another campus/location may be required
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Manage patients with neurological conditions such as CVA, aneurysms, intracranial bleeds, and seizure disorders
• Administer respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen therapy
• Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration
• Must reside outside a 100-mile radius of the facility to be eligible, except for LVNs/LPNs
• Candidates on assignment in San Diego for 9+ months or more are considered local and not eligible
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• Returning staff or travelers must wait 1 year before reapplying after leaving
• Maximum 7 days RTO allowed; no additional RTO requests permitted after consideration
• Interview availability required, including specific days, times, and time zone
