Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Telemetry RN for a 13-week assignment in Florida. Requires an active FL or compact RN license, BLS/ACLS via AHA, NIH Stroke Scale, and at least one year of telemetry experience. Salary and shifts vary by unit; Epic EMR is used.

Qualifications

• One year of recent telemetry experience required.
• US hospital acute care experience within past 24 months optional
• Feet: not applicable.

Responsibilities

• Telemetry unit setting with 3x12 hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM).
• Nurse-to-patient ratio 1:4–6 depending on unit.
• Floating to other units of competency required.
• Provide telemetry nursing care including dysrhythmia monitoring and line/drip management.
• No holiday RTO allowed.
• Facility is smoke-free.
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at lower pay rate.
• Former Broward Health employees must be separated for at least one year before returning as traveler.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with at least one year of recent tele experience and an active FL or compact RN license for a 13-week assignment.

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certification required via AHA
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• One year of recent telemetry experience required
• Degree from an accredited nursing program, or a degree approved by FBON plus 2 years of recent consecutive acute care experience in a US hospital within the past 24 months
• Skills required: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, O2 protocol management, non-invasive airway management, management of drips, peripheral and central line care/management, blood product administration, isolation precautions/PPE, and rapid response team activation
• Must pass a basic arrhythmia/EKG assessment
• Must complete a Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks and abuse registry review

Responsibilities

• Telemetry unit setting with day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM)

• Every other weekend or 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule required
• Uses Epic EMR

• Facility is smoke-free
• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius are accepted at a lower pay rate
• Former Broward Health permanent employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates from Operation Nightingale schools are not accepted
