Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Telemetry unit in Florida with Level 1 Trauma experience and an active FL/Compact license. Must have BLS/ACLS, NIHSS, and Cerner/Epic EMR familiarity. Two years of telemetry experience in a US hospital is required.

The role includes 3x12 night shifts (19:00-07:30), EOW, and holiday coverage, with responsibilities spanning telemetry monitoring, drips, central line care, and rhythm interpretation.

Qualifications

• Active FL or Compact RN license in hand.
• BLS and ACLS certifications via AHA.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• 2 years telemetry experience within past 24 months in US hospital.
• Level 1 Trauma experience.
• Cerner and Epic EMR experience.
• Drip titration, central line care, and dysrhythmia interpretation.
• Nursing degree from accredited school as required by FL Board of Nursing.
• Candidates from Operation Nightingale schools not accepted.
• Must pass basic arrhythmia/EKG competency assessment.

Responsibilities

• Telemetry unit in a Level 1 Trauma hospital setting.
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6.
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30).
• Every other weekend (EOW) required.
• Floating to other telemetry floors as needed.
• Holiday coverage required for 2 of 3 major holidays, including eve and day.
• Responsibilities include managing telemetry monitoring, drip titration, central line care, and dysrhythmia interpretation.
• Smoke-free facility.
• Requires Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening, including fingerprinting and criminal history review.
• Former Broward Health permanent employees must be separated for 1 year before returning as a traveler.
• Local candidates within 60-mile radius at a lower rate.

Requirements

• Active FL or Compact RN license required in hand
• BLS and ACLS certification via AHA
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• 2 years of recent consecutive telemetry experience within the past 24 months in a US hospital
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Cerner and Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in managing drips, peripheral central line care/management, and interpreting dysrhythmias
• Degree must be from an accredited school or an institution approved by the FL Board of Nursing
• Candidates from Operation Nightingale schools not accepted
