Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry night shift position requiring Stroke/Neuro experience and prior travel assignment history.

The role involves providing telemetry-level nursing care to stroke and neuro patients in a hospital setting, with 12-hour night shifts starting at 19:00 and floating as needed. Applicants must hold an Illinois RN license, current BLS and ACLS certifications, NIHSS, EPIC EMR experience, and must pass on-site EKG tests.

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart or American Red Cross for BLS only)
• NIHSS certification required
• 2 years of Stroke/Neuro experience required
• Minimum of 1 completed travel assignment required
• Travel nursing experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Must pass a Relias EKG test with a score of 80% or higher prior to consideration
• Must pass an on-site EKG test on Day 1 of orientation (pass/fail)
• Date of birth required for consideration
• 2 professional references required, with 1 reference from most recent travel assignment
• New graduates will not be considered

Responsibilities

• Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, start time 19:00
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage as needed, with at least 1-2 holidays required during the contract
• Floating required, including to other units within the health system, as needed
• First to float among staff
• No on-call requirements
• Provide telemetry-level nursing care to patients with Stroke/Neuro conditions
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Local radius of 50 miles applies
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
• Returning permanent or per diem staff must be separated from the facility for at least 12 months before being considered as a traveler
• RTO for 13-week contracts limited to a maximum of 7 days
• A study guide will be provided in advance of the Day 1 EKG test
• Orientation occurs every Monday
