Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Telemetry RN for a day-shift hospital assignment requiring 2+ years of Telemetry experience and an active MD or Compact RN license. The position includes comprehensive benefits and travel reimbursement.

The RN will work in a hospital Telemetry unit, patient ratios around 1:5, with 3x12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, across a travel-friendly schedule. Previous travel nursing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active MD or Compact RN license required.
• 2+ years Telemetry experience required.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI.
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred.
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, line care, and PICC management.
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation.
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Telemetry unit of a hospital setting.
• Patient ratio of 1:5, occasionally up to 1:6 with low/safe acuity patients.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• 36 or 48 hours per week accepted.
• Every other weekend required, totaling 4 weekends in a 4-week schedule cycle.
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled.
• Provide telemetry nursing care to cardiac, neurological, and post-surgical patient populations.
• Monitor and manage dysrhythmias and respond to cardiac emergencies.
• Floating required with priority given to travelers.
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible unless stated otherwise.
• Typically allows one contract and one extension before requiring a 6-month break.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a day-shift hospital position requiring 2+ years of experience and an active MD or Compact RN license.

Requirements

• Active MD or Compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI (CPI training available on-site during orientation if not already obtained)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Telemetry experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Charting system experience with Epic preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Knowledge of isolation precautions, PPE, and wound care
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and heparin protocols preferred
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization and post-MI care preferred
• Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care

Responsibilities

• Work in the Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:5, occasionally up to 1:6 with low/safe acuity patients
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
• Every other weekend required, totaling 4 weekends in a 4-week schedule cycle
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• Floating required within specialty and to lower acuity units as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Provide telemetry nursing care to cardiac, neurological, and post-surgical patient populations, including CVA and pre/post neurosurgery cases
• Monitor and manage dysrhythmias and respond to cardiac emergencies
• Floating required with priority given to travelers, who must be comfortable floating within scope without restrictions
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible unless otherwise stated
• Maximum of 7 days RTO may be requested; requests exceeding 4 consecutive days require an additional week added to the contract
• One major holiday off during the winter season may be allowed depending on scheduling needs
• Returning former travelers must have been away from the health system for at least 6 months
• Former staff must have been separated from the health system for at least 12 months before returning as a travel RN
• Typically allows one contract and one extension before requiring a 6-month break from the facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
