Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry unit. The candidate must hold an active LA or compact RN license and have telemetry experience along with travel background.

The role emphasizes cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and pre/post care for cardiac procedures, with a 3x12 day shift and potential hospital-wide floating. Teaching hospital experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active LA or compact RN license required.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Minimum 2 years of experience required.
• Previous travel experience required.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management.
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and heparin protocols preferred.
• Experience with pacemakers, TAVR, and pre/post cardiac cath or surgery care preferred.
• One professional reference required.
• Candidates must disclose any license disciplinary actions at time of consideration.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Telemetry unit of a hospital setting.
• Cardiac, respiratory, and neurological/psychiatric patient populations including CVA and post cardiac cath/surgery cases.
• Patient ratio of 1:6.
• McKesson charting system experience preferred.
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM).
• Required to float within the hospital as needed.
• Provide telemetry monitoring and cardiac care including dysrhythmia management and administration of cardiac medications.
• Orientation includes a virtual first day followed by two on-site days with additional EMR training.
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility.
• Local candidates are not accepted.
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler.
• Holiday time-off requests should be kept to a minimum.
• Candidates with recent professional cancellations will be reviewed prior to consideration.
