Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift position in Augusta, GA. Requires 2+ years telemetry experience and a GA or Compact RN license. Epic charting experience is required along with BLS/ACLS certs; NIHSS preferred.

Responsibilities include caring for adults to geriatrics on a 36-bed unit with 1:4-5 ratios, monitoring cardiac status, dysrhythmias, and rapid response. Night hours 19:00–07:00, every other weekend; navy blue scrubs mandated.

Qualifications

• Active GA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team utilization.
• IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and PICC line management.
• Respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and oxygen administration.
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips and PCA.

Responsibilities

• Telemetry unit caring for adults to geriatric patients.
• Common diagnoses include CHF, MI/chest pain, dysrhythmias, hypo-/hypertension, sepsis, PE/DVT.
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5 on a 36-bed unit with an average daily census of 35.
• Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication.
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00.
• Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified.
• Floating within facility as needed; no on-call requirements.
• Provide telemetry-level nursing care including cardiac monitoring, medication management, and post-cardiac procedure care.
• Navy blue scrubs required.
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract; no post-offer schedule changes.

• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team utilization


• Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and PICC line management


• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and oxygen administration


• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) and PCA


• Copies of required certifications needed for consideration

• Navy blue scrubs required


• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, finalized at time of submission with no post-offer schedule changes


• No RTO permitted during orientation week or the designated Spring Break blackout (April 4th-12th)


• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)


• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Previous Piedmont employees must be separated from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
